Five years of digital accessibilityFive years of Eye-Able is more than just a company anniversary. It marks five years filled with meaningful encounters, collaborative projects, and a shared commitment to advancing digital inclusion.
From the very beginning, our goal was clear: digital accessibility should never be a privilege—it must be a given for everyone.
Over the past years, we’ve seen the true strength of community. Today, more than 10,000 partners place their trust in Eye-Able. But what matters most is that behind every number are people—people who break down barriers and open up new possibilities.
Every project, every consultation, and every implementation has been a step towards a more inclusive digital world. And we’ve learned that accessibility isn’t a one-off achievement—it’s an ongoing process that can only be shaped together.
That’s why we’re taking this anniversary as an opportunity to reflect on the successes of the past five years.
2020: The beginningOliver Greiner founded Eye-Able together with his brother Tobias, along with Eric Braun and Chris Schmidt. The spark came from a personal story—Lennart, a close friend of the founders, lives with a visual impairment. His experiences with digital barriers made it painfully clear how urgently solutions were needed.
The founders set out with a small team and a big vision: to make the digital world accessible to everyone.
Eye-Able was recognised by the jury as one of Germany’s 32 most innovative and creative companies. At the same time, the team began to grow. The first colleagues joined and helped shape the company culture from day one.
Eye-Able received the “Global Hero 2023” title for its innovative and globally scalable business model. With the launch of Eye-Able Report, we introduced a powerful tool that allows companies to automatically check for digital barriers.
Our team grew to over 100 people, and with our launch in the Netherlands, we began our international expansion.
Following a successful start in Italy, we expanded into Poland, Spain and finally the UK. This marks another step in our mission to embed digital accessibility across Europe. At the same time, we launched the Eye-Able Platform—a comprehensive solution that brings together all our services. From software and AI-powered analysis to consulting and manual testing, our clients now have everything in one place.
Five years is a wonderful milestone to reflect on—but even more important is looking ahead. We know there are still many barriers to overcome. That’s why, in the years to come, we aim to support even more companies and organisations in making their digital offerings accessible.
A key focus will be our expansion into Austria, Denmark, Sweden and Switzerland. Because digital accessibility knows no borders—and we want to help ensure that more people there have unrestricted access to digital content.
We also want to continue raising awareness around inclusion. For us, building awareness means making barriers visible, fostering understanding, and developing solutions together.
We firmly believe that, by working together, we can create a digital world that leaves no one behind.
Thank you to everyone who’s been part of this journey. Here’s to the next five years—and to a future where digital accessibility is simply the norm.
