Show your commitment to digital accessibility with the Eye-Able Seal

More than just a badge: the Eye-Able Seal stands for a genuine commitment to digital accessibility. Show, in a transparent and honest way, that accessibility is an ongoing process for you – reviewed by experts and visible to everyone.

Blue badge with More than just a promise

You’ve already laid the foundation for digital accessibility – and with tools like Eye-Able, you ensure that your legally required accessibility statement remains accurate and up to date.

The Eye-Able Seal takes this a decisive step further. It is the external validation of your work. By being awarded the seal by our accessibility experts, you demonstrate that accessibility is not a one-off project for you, but a responsibility you actively live by. Your progress becomes visible, transparent and honestly traceable for every visitor.

What exactly is the Eye-Able Seal?

The Eye-Able Seal is a digital badge awarded following a thorough review by Eye-Able’s specialised accessibility experts. Depending on the product, between 13 and 112 test criteria are assessed based on WCAG and EN 301 549

These checks include, among other things, an analysis of the HTML and JavaScript structure, the use of automated testing tools such as Eye-Able Audit & Report, as well as manual tests conducted by experts with different disabilities. These manual reviews uncover barriers that automated software scans alone are unable to detect.

The results of these detailed assessments form the basis for awarding the Eye-Able Seal. The focus is not on a single test result, but on a long-term commitment to implementing digital accessibility holistically and continuously improving it.

This commitment is demonstrated in two concrete ways: first, through measurable progress in resolving the issues documented in the Eye-Able Report – typically achieving an implementation rate of around 80%. Second, through the conscious decision to commission additional manual tests, which reveal further barriers that automated solutions cannot identify on their own.

It links directly to a public, Eye-Able-hosted project documentation page. This page allows anyone to view the current audit status, implemented measures and ongoing project progress at any time.

The benefits of the Seal: why the recognition is worth it

Choosing the Eye-Able Seal offers clear and measurable benefits that go far beyond a simple declaration of intent.

External and visible validation

Unlike a purely formal accessibility statement, which often exists without binding minimum requirements, the Eye-Able Seal confirms your commitment through an independent external review. It is tied to concrete, verifiable criteria rather than self-assessment alone.

Robust project documentation

The continuously maintained documentation linked to the seal serves as solid evidence of your progress. It can be used as supporting documentation when communicating with authorities, stakeholders and users.

Reliability and continuity

The seal is not a static promise. It is linked to clear conditions and reflects your ongoing work rather than a single moment in time. This allows users to see that you treat accessibility as a long-term responsibility and remain actively committed to improvement.

Transparency for users

Through the public audit documentation, users can view the current status of your accessibility efforts and planned improvement measures at any time. This transparency builds trust and demonstrates that you take feedback seriously.

How to obtain the Seal

The process for obtaining the Eye-Able Seal is structured and transparent. To qualify, three key requirements must be met:

  • A minimum score of 80% in the Eye-Able Dashboard, which brings together the results of the automated accessibility analysis in a clear and structured way.

  • The commissioning of at least one manual accessibility test.

  • Consent to the publication of the project documentation on our website.

The combination of automated analysis (dashboard score) and human-centred validation (manual testing) provides a reliable basis. It allows you to clearly understand where you stand – and ensures that your accessibilityholds up in real-world use, not just in automated checks.

  1. You purchase the licence for the Eye-Able Seal.

  2. Eye-Able creates the public project documentation and takes care of its hosting and ongoing maintenance.

  3. You independently integrate the seal badge on your website or in your app.

  4. You are required to link the seal to the project documentation page provided by Eye-Able.

  5. Use of the seal is conditional on the continued fulfilment of the defined requirements and remains valid only as long as these conditions are met.

The next step for your accessible website

The Eye-Able Seal is more than just an icon in the footer. It is an honest indication that digital inclusion matters to you and that you approach accessibility in a professional and structured way. It shows your users that youare not merely meeting legal minimum requirements, but are actively working to remove barriers day by day.

Now is the moment to take the next step and make your commitment visible to the world.

Secure your Eye-Able seal and demonstrate your commitment.
