Become accessible and reap the benefits!

Increased reach

By removing barriers, the reach of digital services is increased. People with disabilities can thus access information and services without any problems. This also promotes general inclusion and equality in the digital space.

Legal security

Compliance with the BITV ensures that organizations meet legal requirements, avoiding legal conflicts and possible sanctions. It also protects the organization from potential lawsuits and improves compliance standards.

Positive publicity

Organizations that provide accessible services demonstrate their commitment to inclusion and social responsibility. This can strengthen the organization's public image and increase user confidence.

Increased user friendliness

Accessible designs are often more user-friendly for people without disabilities. A clear structure, easy-to-read text and intuitive navigation improve the overall user experience.

Overview

The EN 301 549 - All about the law

What is the EN 301 549?

EN 301 549 is a European standard developed to ensure that information and communication technology (ICT) products and services are accessible to people with disabilities. It aligns with global accessibility guidelines and provides a framework for public procurement to ensure that digital tools and services are usable by everyone, regardless of ability.

What is required?

The directive requires all public sector websites and mobile applications to comply with WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 standards. The directive applies to all EU member states and aims to improve access for peple with disabilities to web content, software, hardware, mobile applications, and documents used by public bodies.

Prepare for the EAA - Comply with the EN 301 549

EN 301 549 provides the technical specifications necessary to comply with the European Accessibility Act (EAA), which aims to improve accessibility in the EU market. By conforming to EN 301 549, organizations will ensure compliance with the EAA and promote a more inclusive digital landscape across the EU.

Absolute necessity for people with disabilities

Around 1 billion people worldwide have a disability. Of these, 215 million are visually impaired and therefore have major problems with website usability. It is no longer enough just to make buildings accessible; inclusion must also be practiced on the Internet. All people should be able to participate equally in digital media.
