Why is it important?

By 2025, websites must be accessible to meet new laws. Non-compliance risks legal issues, while accessibility fosters inclusivity and prevents penalties.

What should you be prepared for?

Legal basis for digital accessibility

EAA

The European Accessibility Act

The EAA is committed to making online commerce accessible to consumers. It focuses on products and services that are most important for people with disabilities. The European Accessibility Act must be transposed into national law by all EU countries by June 28, 2025.

BFSG

What is the BFSG?

The “Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz”, or BFSG for short, is the implementation of the European Accessibility Act in Germany and will also come into force on June 28, 2025. The law promotes the equal and non-discriminatory participation of people with disabilities, restrictions and older people.
